On the topic of capital punishment in Singapore, Singapore's High Commissioner to Australia, Joseph Koh, said, ""This is something that is supported by the overwhelming majority of Singaporeans." Erm ... what was that based on? Who was the overwhelming majority? Show me the statistics! Was there a poll while I was away (and I am still away)? What did I miss?
Argh ... I get very annoyed when people make sweeping statements like this.

By deduction, I think.
(a) Silence means consent.
(b) There is a silent majority in Singapore because we are quite Vogan-like, really.
(c) Therefore, sweeping statements such as the above are possible.
