My flatmate, Marty and I decided to catch the movie "Charlie and the chocolate factory" on a fri afternoon. We went to Marty's favourite cinema in Hawthorne - small and old. Doesn't it bring back childhood memories?

We got the tickets at A$5 (concession rate) at this cinema ... very cheap comparing to the steep A$8.50 at other big cinema chain. Best of all, we got drinks and popcorns at half the price here as compared to those at the big cinemas.

I have finished creating the first pages of my 50, 000-word dissertation ... the title page, the declaration of originality page, the acknowledgement page (anyone who wants his/her name to appear on page please raise his/her hand) and the content page. AND I have started writing the introduction and the method section!!! I am not sure how I am going to squeeze 50,000 words out of my brain. I don't think my brain is working anymore :( Wa! I need a holiday!

In my quest to become healthier and fitter, I started going to the gym with my flatmate, Marty this week. Yes, I am going to the gym! To be exact, 4 times this week.

It is a small gym located in the hospital where Marty works.

It would be nice to have a MASSAGE after every work out!!

I love to be pampered.

My sister-in-law was in town yesterday. I like her room in Hilton - posh! It has a flat screen TV and playstation! Have I mentioned that I love to travel in style?

She always brings me local food whenever she can. I have not had one of these in years. I forgot the name ... 9-layer cake? I used to peel one layer off to eat at a time when I was young.

She also brought me mooncakes!!!!
Yummy!

Driving to Warwick

I drove to Warwick, a town 162 km. south of Brisbane, to do an assessment. The whole journey to and fro Warwick took me 4 1/2 hours.

This was what I saw on my way. Life is not so bad after all :)

In the past 2 months, I have seen far more cows and horses than I had in my entire life living in Singapore.

My flatmate recalled when she was young, she thought that the colour of the milk depends on the colour of the cow who produces the milk. White cow = normal dairy milk. Brown cow = chocolate milk. Erm where does the strawberry milk come from? And what does the white + black cow produce?

My flatmate and I bought a Mr Wonderful doll for a friend's hens' night. You just have to give Mr. Wonderful doll a squeeze and he will say the right things such as "Let's cuddle tonight," "Shall we stop and ask for directions?" "You can have the remote control. As long as I am with you, I don't care what we watch". Email me if you know someone like him in real life.

Ignorance is bliss in many ways.

When you have no idea what you don't know or don't have or even don't want, you probably won't have the urge to achieve the impossibles.

I like that ... but can i ever be contented with what I currently have and not pine for what I can/may have?

I finally sold my old car to the wreckers for A$25! The spare new tyre costs more than that. Oh well ... anyway ... I took a last look at my old car. For A$1000, it had served me well for the past 2+ years. It is time for me to let it go :(

I will try to be good to my new car. I will try to shower it with a lot of tender love and care whenever I can spare the time. Do I sound convincing enough?

How far would I go to collect data for my research?

I agreed to go up to Nambour, about 106km north of Brisbane, on the Sunshine Coast to assess a 5-year-old boy with Asperger's Syndrome.

The whole trip took me about 6 hours on public transport.

Unfortunately I didn't manage to finish the assessment as the little boy wasn't compliant that day. I have to do all the travelling again in 3 weeks' time!

This is it! I am starting to see light at the end of the tunnel. I will be finishing my postgrad studies ... hopefully in the next few months.

However, writing my dissertation is not as appealing as wasting my time procrastinating.

I wish I were there.
